Welcome to our scholarship - "Music for The Planet"

What is “Music for The Planet”

“Music for The Planet” was conceived in alignment with the London Music Academy’s core mission. The programme seeks to equip students across China, Thailand, and Europe with profound musical knowledge and broader cultural insight through cross-cultural exchange. It fosters mutual learning and shared development, elevating music beyond its role as a universal language to serve as a catalyst for social enrichment and global harmony.

Driven by music and deeply rooted in cultural and heritage exchange, Music for The Planet is a progressive and well-structured initiative that facilitates regular, music-focused collaborations among learners from the UK, Europe, Thailand, and China—bridging nations through the power of art and understanding.

“Music for The Planet” is a scholarship programme

“Music for The Planet” is primarily funded by the London Music Academy, in collaboration with its affiliated co-sponsors.

How to apply

The “Music for The Planet” programme offers an inspiring range of destinations, including Bangkok, Chengdu, Shanghai, Paris, Cannes, and London. Scholarships are awarded to outstanding candidates through a thoughtfully designed selection process that includes both preliminary screening and a final audition. Applicants are invited to submit digital content that best showcases their musical background and artistry. Shortlisted candidates from the first round will be notified and invited to virtual interviews conducted by a distinguished panel of veteran musicians. Those who advance to the final round will audition in the capital city of their respective home countries.

Successful finalists will be invited to join the international programme best suited to their learning objectives. The entire onboarding process typically spans four to six months, with final confirmations issued approximately two months before departure.

And if you are not selected—take heart. The journey itself is a rich experience of artistic and personal growth. Through each stage of the process, you will be immersed in a dynamic environment of music, culture, and discovery—one that celebrates potential, nurtures optimism, and inspires transformation alongside kindred spirits who share your passion and vision.

Selection criteria

Candidates are evaluated not only on their musical proficiency, but also on how well they embody the core values of “Music for The Planet.” Applicants are encouraged to submit references highlighting their musical accomplishments, along with records of their social and cultural engagements that reflect a broader understanding of music’s role in connecting communities and inspiring positive change.

Who should apply

Students aged 10 to 16 who study instruments such as the violin, piano, or cello—whether aspiring professionals or passionate hobbyists—are warmly invited to apply. We welcome applicants of all nationalities; however, participants should possess at least an intermediate level of English proficiency. In certain cases, parents may accompany younger children under a self-funded arrangement, ensuring a supportive and enriching experience for all.
